Job Description :
Lockheed Martin Enterprise Business Services (EBS) Financial Services is responsible for providing Accounts Payable (AP) services to various Lockheed Martin (LM) business area partners. This position is a Team Lead position in which the primary responsibility is to lead the Tax and Accounting functions in Accounts Payable in support of each of the LM business areas.

As the lead Tax Accountant this position is responsible for the oversight and completion of the Accounts Payable tax reporting obligations and ensuring compliance. This includes the preparation and submission of 1099-Misc and 1042-S forms to LM suppliers and the IRS by required deadlines, the review and cataloging of W8 and W9 forms, completion of G/L account reconciliations, tax withholding analysis and refund processing, and miscellaneous tasks as required. This position is also responsible for providing internal and external customer service (phone calls and emails) for tax related inquiries and requests.

In addition to the tax accounting responsibilities, this position will provide leadership and oversight to the AP general accountants across the department. These responsibilities include the establishment and documentation of best practices, identification and resolution of process deficiencies, monthly aged reconciling item reviews, complex issue resolution, and oversight of month-end closing activities. As a Team Lead, this position is also expected to train, mentor, and develop the accounting team members both technically & professionally through weekly team meetings and one-on-one sessions.

The candidate must be able to support and meet demanding deadlines and schedules on a continuing basis while maintaining a positive, can-do attitude and keeping the team energized. The candidate must bring a sense of dedication to the organization and be able/willing to support and meet tight deadlines on a continuous basis (including occasionally working on weekends and/or holidays as required to meet corporate goals) while staying focused on internal and external policies and procedures. An ability to work effectively both independently and in a supportive, diverse team environment is expected. The candidate will also be expected to maintain and drive required financial controls. The candidate will be expected to ensure adequate internal controls are in place to support a positive audit posture and minimize risk to the organization and Lockheed Martin. The position also requires the ability to collaborate with the procurement organization and other facets of the organization to change/enhance policy as they relate to the Accounts Payable process.

Basic Qualifications
-Accounting, Finance, Economics or related degree or equivalent experience/combined education
-Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. Tax Law
-Experienced and demonstrated knowledge of accounting journal transaction posting and related impacts
-Proven effective analytical, research and problem solving skills illustrated through related work experience
-Proven accountability and professionalism
-Demonstrated high level of interpersonal and customer service skills
-Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel
-Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced environment
