Job Description :
• Provide facilities support for the operation and maintenance of the Valley Forge Data Center to include, but not limited to, the following:
• Operate, monitor, and maintain the data center’s electrical infrastructure to include, but not limited to, low and medium voltage switchgear, transformer substations, motor control centers, UPS systems, emergency generators, distribution panels. Make adjustments as required, per manufacturer’s recommendations.
• Inspect and maintain electrical systems and accessories on cooling towers, chillers, air handling units, exhaust fans, pumps, hot water heaters, and other plant machines, equipment, motors and controls.
• Perform construction and maintenance operations to include, but not limited to installing and maintaining lighting, industrial motors, transformers, panels, breakers and switches.
• Determine routing, location, and method of installing wires, conduits, electrical equipment, fixtures, and accessories.
• Compute wire gauge, power, and load limit requirements.
• Follow trade practices, drawings, diagrams, specifications and all applicable codes.
• Maintain, replace, and repair solid state boards and components, CNC equipment, mini computers, microprocessors, and control systems.
• Install electrical circuits above and below a raised floor environment.
• Perform periodic inspections and operate equipment to determine maintenance and repair work necessary to prevent functional breakdown.
• Diagnose malfunctions and determine method, sequence, and schedule of repair and/or overhaul operations to safely restore electrical service.
• Analyze and troubleshoot electrical systems failures and make emergency repairs as needed. Assist to plan and schedule electrical outages.
• Dismantle, repair, overhaul, and electrically service equipment and controls.
• Reassemble, install, and test electrical system, components, and controls.
• Check and calibrate systems as needed to achieve peak operational efficiencies.
• Make work sketches of defective parts, take measurements from equipment, record material and procurement requirements, and specify requirements for use by others.
• Setup and operate maintenance tools and testing devices including, but not limited to, volt - ohm meters, ammeters, oscilloscopes, pulse and digital test equipment, and other test instruments.
• Utilize building management system to monitor and control building systems and equipment.
• Perform energy management and energy efficiency practices.
• Update preventative maintenance electronic and paper records. Record data including but not limited to date of completed maintenance, repair, and other statistics.
• Perform modifications to electrical and data interfaces with HVAC, plumbing systems, building infrastructure, furniture and trim, as required.
• Work with diverse individuals, contractors, and teams to monitor and assist in commissioning of new equipment, learn equipment operations, and maintenance requirements.
• Participate in team meetings related to construction and ongoing operations and maintenance, as required
• Assist to plan and set up preventative maintenance programs and schedules for new equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical and control schematics, single line diagrams, ladder diagrams, sketches, manufacturer’s specifications and O&M manuals.
• Coordinate and work with contractors and suppliers for scheduled supplier warranty repair, inspections, and other contracted services.
• Apply knowledge of related safe work practices, OSHA regulations, and procedures. Utilize safety PPE, equipment, tools, and processes.
• Assist in other operations and maintenance activities as required.
Weekend on call duty and other coverage required.

Basic Qualifications
• Knowledge and experience in maintenance shop practices and procedures related to the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of systems and equipment.
• Experience operating switchgear, transformer substations, motor control centers, UPS systems, generators, low voltage power distribution equipment and controls, and grounding systems. Experience with 120, 208, 277, 480 voltage systems.
• Experience in the use of electrician hand tools, power tools, testing and measurement instruments, handbooks, and charts.
• Knowledge of electrical codes and safety requirements including OSHA, NEC, and arc flash PPE requirements.
• Ability to perform preventative, predictive, and incidental maintenance and make routine operational adjustments.
• Operational knowledge in automated building management systems.
• 3-5 years electrical plant, installation, and maintenance experience.
Completed an apprenticeship or equivalent education with five years journeyman experience
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Applications(Word, Excel, PowerPoint)and other communications tools.
• Familiarity in MAXIMO or other CMMS software tools.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform in a team environment.
• Courteous and professional attitude and works well under pressure.
Ability to work weekend on call duty and other coverage as required.

Desired skills
• State licensed electrician journeyman.
Experience troubleshooting hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and electronic and control systems.
• Five (5) years of data center and/or control room operations and maintenance experience.
Five (5) years experience with 480 voltage systems.
Five (5) years experience with medium voltage systems.
• Proficiency in operating an automated building management system and computer controlled equipment.
• Proficiency in the utilization of MAXIMO and/or other preventative maintenance management software and CAD systems.
• Technical school and/or trade school certification.
• State licensed master electrician.
• Self-motivation and ability to motivate others, as required.
