Job Description :
This dynamic position is based at the LM Federal building campus, Colorado Springs, CO. The System Administrator (SA) maintains operations of multi-user server, desktop and storage infrastructure systems, COTS software products, and performs basic network administration within the scope of the site’s connectivity network. The SA should be very familiar with Microsoft Windows and RedHat Linux operating systems. The SA team is responsible for monitoring and correcting system performance issues, backing up and restoring files, patching system and operating system software, maintaining software licenses, and assisting the Information Assurance (IA) team with account management and system vulnerability management. SAs work closely with the customer and peer personnel to accomplish these responsibilities. The SA also provides OJT on system configuration, assists in deploying software/hardware deliveries, supports special projects, and assists operational crews and contractor teams to resolve system and network issues. The SAs assist the IA team by providing access to system logs, instruction for monitoring user accounts, and identifying and responding to security issues/incidents.

Description: This is a day-staff position but after-hours support may be required from time-to-time as assigned by the team lead. System Administrators are required to be CompTIA Security+ certified and must be completed within 90 days of assignment. Provide system administration services for the SSC Space Mission Force Programs environment and requires the following abilities:
• Apply and maintain required security patches\\anti-virus dat files
• Support 24/7 operational environment
• Document, install, configure, maintain, and upgrade Windows and Redhat Operating System software and products
• Perform system diagnostics and troubleshoot issues
• Determine root causes analysis and recommend strategies to prevent recurrences
• Provide support for Disaster Recovery planning, testing and execution
• Participate in Customer Reviews requiring server impacts or temporary outages
• Participate in system validation testing
• Perform recovery and restoration of servers
• Coordinate alert generation tool downtime for planned outages
• Manage day to day support of the Windows environment, including:
• Active Directory management
• Windows server administration for SQL, Web, WSUS, print services, and other related support applications
• Hardware and software vendor communication for maintenance/repair/upgrade
• Restoration/Storage services (hardware, software, tape management)
• Security hardening
• Security audit logging and system configuration documentation
• Software application installation
• Data storage administration using NetApp filers
• Partner with Program to recommend hardware/software requirements

Basic Qualifications
• Candidate must have an active Top Secret Security Clearance
• Experienced with basic system administration tasks
• Must be able to work in a production/operational environment.
• Must be willing and able to travel (20%) between Denver, CO and Colorado Springs, CO
• IAWEP IAT Level 2 or higher Certification (Security+, CASP, CISSP or equivalent)
• Leadership experience
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Experience with Microsoft Windows and RedHat operating systems
• Familiarity with Windows Active Directory domains and Windows server administration
• NetApp Storage Administration experience
• Experience with scripting languages

• Experience upgrading server operating systems, imaging, configuration management, security certificate installs and renewals
