Job Description :
This position will serve as a strategic thought leader and requires a strong understanding of workplace diversity & inclusion concepts and practices, as well as, cross-cultural competency knowledge. The Diversity and Inclusion Consultant will engage to ensure alignment with corporate diversity & inclusion strategies and have experience designing, developing, and implementing multi-national approaches which enable increased results across the enterprise.

As a consultant, key responsibilities include sitting on the leadership councils of specific communities which govern the organization’s leadership forums while also promoting the multicultural competence of our workforce and employee resource groups (ERGs) that align with strategic business imperatives.

Serving as a change advocate for diversity and inclusion, the consultant will be expected to play a strategic role in advancing the diversity & inclusion framework and strategic goals, working as a catalyst to cultivate a more inclusive work environment. Additional responsibilities include leveraging external partnerships and managing the external corporate engagement strategy to including vendor management of diversity & inclusion conferences, awards, surveys, and community events. Serves as a strategic, thought leader and requires a good understanding of workplace diversity & inclusion concepts and practices, as well as, cross-cultural competency knowledge.

As a member of the Corporate Diversity & Inclusion Team and Global Diversity & Inclusion organization, led by the Vice President of Global Diversity and Inclusion and as a direct report of the D&I Director, the Consultant will advise and partner with key internal and external stakeholders regarding diversity & inclusion, including the full range of issues that impact our client groups. The consultant will also partner with other department team members such as Diversity Outreach and Equal Opportunity Employment, lead development of strategic and supportive communications related to D&I initiatives around employee engagement, inclusive leadership, and work environment, and participate in various community activities and events which support plans to attract and retain a diverse pipeline of talent.
The role is expected to perform D&I related business analyses resulting from benchmarking best practices within industry, nationally, and globally, conducting value-add analysis and metrics for evaluating trends and key themes, tracking progress and process improvement opportunities and informing strategy enhancements benefitting Lockheed Martin.

The ability to travel up to 50% of the time is required. The preferred work location is Bethesda or Rockville, MD, but will consider any other major Lockheed Martin facility.

Basic Qualifications
• 4+ years of diversity & inclusion experience in a highly-matrixed, large multinational organization
• 4+ years of HR experience
• 4+ years of experience working with indirect, virtual, or matrixed teams, globally
• 3+ years of experience managing or working directly with employee resource groups and diversity councils
• 3+ years of experience designing, developing, and facilitating diversity & inclusion theory and learning curriculum

- Advanced project management and event planning experience

-Excellent ability to influence without authority and develop mutually effective relationships with senior leaders, business partners, peers, and external stakeholders to achieve results
-Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive documents and information
-Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications
