Job Description :
Experienced leader of Parts, Materials, and Processes Engineering for the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program. This group is comprised of engineers with expertise in both active and passive electronic piece parts, hybrids, electronic subassemblies, printed wiring board/circuit card assemblies, metals, composites, coatings and propulsion materials. Includes expertise in the application of all parts, materials and processes disciplines in support of the FBM D5 missile development, production, sustainment and future next generation missile programs. Primary responsibilities include personnel assignments, leading the resolution of critical issues, vertical/horizontal communications, interaction with senior management (including Navy customer, government labs), staffing, coaching, group/individual development, and performance management. The ability to integrate, summarize, and present information is key, as is application of Full Spectrum Leadership principles and helping the team adjust to a new organizational paradigm.

The position will possibly require significant travel and/or TDY to Sunnyvale, CA or other sites for the first year.

Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Materials Science and Engineering, Physics, or a related engineering degree
* Demonstrated communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical and programmatic issues to subordinates, peers, management and customers.
* Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships within program, with other enterprise organizations, and with customer personnel
* Experience in leading a team as a team/IPT leader or coded manager
* Experience as an engineer - Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret complex technical requirements and to develop technical plans/solutions to satisfy those requirements
* Ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities in a highly dynamic, high tempo environment.

Desired skills
*Technical experience in Parts and/or Materials & Processes
*Experience as a Lockheed Martin coded manager or technical lead, particularly in engineering and/or program/project management
*Experience working closely with subcontractors
*Experience with part procurement, qualification and traceability issues
*Familiarity with configuration control and quality control tools and systems (e.g. EPDM, non-conformances, and VRICs)
*Experience interfacing with Navy (preferably FBM) customers and senior Lockheed Martin leadership at the L-7 level or above
*Demonstrated ability to build, maintain and coach a team, which includes the execution and evolution of a business rhythm that effectively communicates and achieves program objectives and priorities.
