Lockheed Martin is looking for a Safety Engineer with some experience in other Specialty Engineering disciplines such as reliability, maintainability, logistics engineering, integrated logistics support or sparing analysis to support various programs within the Training and Logistics Systems (TLS) line of business. The successful candidate will be motivated to learn about training simulators (including domed flight simulators), automated test equipment and logistics information systems to determine safety hazards and perform reliability-based analysis of those systems. The right candidate will be able to manage work across multiple programs with different program leadership and customers. International and domestic travel is necessary on occasion. Typical tasks include the development and analysis of system safety requirements, creation and updates of safety reports such as the Safety Hazard Analysis Report and analysis of failure data to identify trends.
The selected candidate will be a motivated self-starter who can meet deadlines without the need for direct supervision. A willingness to learn, multi-task and help programs deliver safe systems is paramount.

Basic Qualifications
- Must have the ability to obtain a security clearance
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
- Experience performing hazard analysis and risk assessment
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-882E
- Experience in producing technical safety reports (Safety assessment reports, health hazard analyses, etc.)

Desired skills
- Strong analytical skills, ability to analyze data from multiple sources to identify trends and failure rates.
- Strong teamwork skills, willingness to work as part of a dynamic team environment.
- Experience performing sparing, level of repair analysis and availability analysis
- Experience performing safety analysis for the Department of Defense (DoD)
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Ability to multi-task and support multiple program efforts
- Experience performing software safety analysis
