Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is a recognized designer, developer and manufacturer of precision engagement aerospace and defense systems for the U.S. and allied militaries. This is Lockheed Martin’s lead business unit for research development and production of manned and unmanned ground-vehicle systems, electro-optical and smart munitions systems and is a pioneer in the field of versatile, high-performance missile and rocket technology.

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer for a position in Grand Prairie, TX. with power electronics experience to support a missile program.

Primary duties for this role include: Conduct design trades to select optimized power conversion topology for the Power System and Converter that meets packaging constraints. Capture subsystem requirements definition including physical (volume and size allocations), electrical, interface, safety, environmental, and functional for breadboard design. Calculate critical performance parameters and include SPICE simulations of converter performance. Collect all design inputs and component selection in a breadboard schematic and route electrical traces for breadboard PWB layout. Complete program and subcomponent design reviews. Familiarity with battery technology desired.

Candidate must to be self-motivating, team-oriented and capable of working with minimal direction. Must be willing to interface with internal teams, suppliers and the customer.

The Locale: Grand Prairie is part of the “Mid-Cities” region in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas. Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth. The region offers a great cost of living combined with a robust economy and a pleasant climate. This North Central region of Texas is a great place to live and to raise a family. The region is home to numerous colleges and universities to include University of Texas at Dallas, University of Texas at Arlington, University of North Texas, Southern Methodist University, Southern Methodist University, and Texas Woman's University. The Mid-Cities is the suburban region filling the thirty-mile span between Dallas and Fort Worth. These communities include the cities of Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, HEB (Hurst, Euless and Bedford), NRH (North Richland Hills and Richland Hills), Haltom City, Watauga, and Keller, along with multiple other smaller towns such as Trophy Club and Roanoke and together represent more people than either Dallas or Fort Worth.

Basic Qualifications
- Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Must have prior experience working with DC-DC power conversion
- Must be familiar with various switching power supply topologies
- Must possess strong general electrical engineering knowledge
- Experience in electronic system and subsystem design and test
- Excellent communications skills
- Ability to work well in an interdisciplinary environment

Desired skills
- Ability to perform requirements definition, design trades, interface definitions, development estimating and tasking
- Strong electronic systems integration testing and excellent troubleshooting skills
- Experience with Analog circuit design, power electronics and thermal batteries
- Experience with compact electronic packaging and heat removal
