The Guidance, Navigation and Control (GN&C) team is looking for enthusiastic and talented individuals to help us design, build, and test the components and algorithms used for spacecraft control and determination. We are looking for individuals with an engineering background, such as aerospace, mechanical or electrical engineering, who have both the desire and aptitude to develop flight-quality Simulink models and to perform advanced analyses with them. Applicants should enjoy learning and being challenged, as they will be exposed to many opportunities, including developing new models, designing algorithms, preparing models for flight, optimizing spacecraft and gimbal controllers, helping with subsystem design and verification, supporting operational systems, and troubleshooting and solving anomalies.
The individuals that join us will become part of a close team that thrives on these tough problems. They will need to be both independently motivated and work well in a fast-paced team environment. Strong communication skills will be expected, as the team must continuously assess and respond to new and changing projects. We use an Agile development process to manage the dynamic environment, and we hold each other accountable for meeting our commitments. Basic Qualifications
1. Ability to obtain a clearance (TS/SCI w/ Poly)
2. Experience using MATLAB and/or Simulink
3. Working knowledge of the mathematics and physics governing spacecraft (e.g., attitude dynamics and control, attitude determination, appendage control, orbital dynamics)

Desired skills
1. Active TS/SCI w/ Poly
2. Bachelors degree from an ABET accredited college in Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline, with 2 years of professional experience; or no experience with a related Masters degree
3. Experience developing and using non-trivial models within Simulink
4. Experience integrating individual models together into larger subsystems and verifying their functionality and performance
5. Basic understanding of GN&C subsystem design, algorithms, and hardware components (e.g., PID controllers, Kalman filtering, reaction wheels, thrusters, star trackers)
6. Experience working well in a team, including a willingness to listen and learn from others
7. Demonstrated problem-solving skills
8. Basic understanding of algorithm tuning and statistical analysis techniques
9. Experience with an Agile development process, such as Scrum or Kanban
