Job Description :
Storekeeper attendant must have excellent oral and written communication skills, be able to maintain a computerized storeroom inventory through oversight and verification of stock issuances, receiving, reorder activity, and physical verification of stock quantities. This attendant is responsible for the integrity of the inventory data, completing daily work order data entry, issuing parts as required. Stockroom attendant must have experience and knowledge in a Facilities Maintenance Operations setting including activities such as handling materials, shipping and receiving of parts, stocking, and inventorying associated with building repairs and machine equipment repairs. Must have a good understanding of inventory and control processes. Complete understanding of inventoried parts and assemblies. Must have a strong background and knowledge of building materials and equipment, with ability to recognize and identify different parts, pipe fittings, sizes, and types of valves, hardware, electrical components, hand tools and understand the proper handling of PC board’s & electronic devices. Works directly with purchasing by receiving materials and entering them into a CMMS database when received, shipped or issued. Responsible for re-stocking, storing and issuing parts, materials, supplies, and equipment. Checks and signs off on deliveries ensuring deliveries match paperwork; noting any shortages, overages or damaged items. Independently coordinates United Parcel Service, Federal Express and common carrier shipping and deliveries. Compiles stock reports and performs inventory transactions on materials kept in stock to ensure quantities are accurate. Maintains an accurate knowledge of stock and bin locations. Frequent bending, stooping, and heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.), walking, climbing stairs, and periods of standing are required. Must have training in the proper operation and use of material handling tools such as hand trucks, pallet lift truck and forklift. Job requires use of handheld scanners and computers to keep track of inventory parts, and stock items being issued. Must validate chemicals received match MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET (MSDS) as required by Environmental Safety and Health in the proper handling, storing and reporting of various types of chemical usage.
Takes necessary precautions to prevent damage to stock such as ensuring items are binned properly, that suitable protection is given to machined surfaces, that parts are wrapped to prevent scratching, and delicate items are properly stored and handled. Unpack deliveries putting stock into the correct locations ensuring all stock is safely stored and easily accessible in line with company guidelines. Judgment and initiatives are exercised frequently in applying stockroom policies and procedures. Ability to work independently and solve problems. Candidates must have the ability to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift according to the collective bargaining agreement between Lockheed Martin and the UAW.
