Job Description :
Develops and maintains software configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software productions. Perform configuration data management and release engineering tasks to ensure software product operating parameters are documented, comply with standard hardware configurations, and are logistically sustainable. Designs, develops, automates, and maintains productivity tools using programming, database or scripting languages to improve software modeling and development. Implements build procedures that are used to support software product development and use. Maintains the Software Configuration Management system including collection or distribution of code documentation, problem report and change request processing, build documents, and delivery of software products to operational environments. Support the coordination and administration of Configuration Data Management (CDM) activities on the program related to change requests (hardware and software) and Configuration Control Board (CCB) activities. In accordance with business and contract requirements, support the review of Contract Deliverable documents. Act as CM representative at CCB. Perform configuration screening and configuration control board agendas and minutes. Reconcile approved engineering change incorporation into products. Act as a technical liaison between other functional areas and the customer. Assign document identifiers. Prepare metrics in accordance with contract requirements. Provide status accounting. Perform document release in a product data management tool. Candidate must be able to work in a team environment. Flexibility in work schedule to meet program commitments. Experience in large programs and missile defense systems is a plus. This position will support multiple program areas (development, production and post-production). Occasional travel may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education. Good scripting skills. Familiarity with Linux, Unix, Windows operating systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work in a team environment. Strong writing and verbal communication skills. Problem solving skills. Ability to effectively manage assigned tasks. Candidate must have basic understanding of Software Configuration Management or the ability to learn planning, identification, configuration control, status accounting, and audits. Must be able to work and communicate effectively within a diverse group of coworkers, customers and military personnel. Ability to learn product data management/enterprise requirement planning tools is essential.

Desired skills
Entry level position for a person with strong organization and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with development/SCM tools or version control systems such as Git/GitLab, Synergy/Change, PERL and /or shell scripting skills. Software Lifecycle Knowledge. Software Configuration Management and associated tools experience. ClearCase/Quest experience. Experience or coursework in technical fields.
