Job Description :
This position will work with the Mechanical Engineering Lead to assist in the mechanical design, engineering documentation, trade studies, and drawing release for a selected program. This position will also perform weights and tolerance analysis on system components. It will work concepts and detail designs to fit Platform Requirements. The selected designer will work the design layout, and follow-up working with mechanical analyst to ensure the design meets all requirements. Prior experience in metal machining, castings, composites, and forgings is preferred. Additionally, the designer will work with the supplier during the design and manufacturing process to mitigate any production issues. They will work closely with Mechanical Engineering to support all program objectives. Travel may be required on an as needed basis.

Orlando is about an hour's drive from Cocoa Beach and the "space coast" to include NASA and the Kennedy Space Center. Tampa is about 1 and ¼ hours from Orlando. West Palm Beach is about 2.5 hours to the south and Jacksonville is about 2 hours to the northeast. Atlanta, GA is 6 hours to the northwest.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering or a related degree.

Must have the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret clearance and therefore be a US Citizen.

Desired skills
3.0 GPA or higher

Assignments will permit the development of design skills in concept layout, hardware design, and fabrication, and hardware integration during the assembly stage.

Good test planning and execution skills.

Knowledge of GD&T is a plus.

Previous LMC experience is a plus, and developing skills
in CREO or CATIA V5 is also a plus.
