Lockheed Martin’s Corporate Strategy & Business Development (CSBD) is a corporate function responsible for global strategies and new business capture. CSBD provides significant commitment and support of strategic plans, capture initiatives, business area focus pursuits and organizational talent development.

As a Strategic Planning Senior Manager in the Corporate Strategy organization, the selected candidate will be responsible for leading a wide variety of strategic projects that build upon our Strategy Themes, enterprise Strategy Tenets and Strategic Priorities.

The Strategic Planning Senior Manager will coordinate efforts across multiple Business Areas and functional areas to diagnose complex strategic issues, identify appropriate company goals, and make informed recommendations to senior stakeholders. The role will manage multiple project phases—including scoping and approach, market research, data analysis, stakeholder discussion, consultant engagement, presentation development, communication to leaders—up to and through strategy implementation.

Responsibilities include:
• Planning and execution of the Lockheed Martin annual strategic planning cycle
• Development of executive and board-level strategy presentations
• Planning and execution of key strategy forums and senior leadership meetings
• Project management of Strategic Business Reviews (SBRs) or Country Strategies
• Leadership of ad-hoc strategy projects and analyses for executive leaders
• Oversight and maintenance of key Corporate Strategy products including market segment forecasts and competitor analyses
• Coordination of cross-business area studies and business pursuits
• Supporting collaborative activities and strategy development with other enterprise functions, including Corporate Engineering Technology and Operations, Finance and Business Operations, Human Resources, Government Affairs, LM International, Corporate Development, and others
• Supporting M&A and investment activities through market, business case, and strategic analysis
• Presenting findings to the VP, Corporate Strategy, SVP of CSBD or other senior LM executive stakeholders
• Engagement with external consultants and think tanks
• Management, training, and development of junior analysts

Lockheed Martin’s Corporate Strategy team is driven to achieve. The Strategic Planning Senior Manager will collaborate and partner with a forward-thinking team of professionals. Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed to support the organization’s goals and objectives.

Basic Qualifications
Prior experience with development of Enterprise, Business Area, International (country or regional) or functional strategies. Prior experience leading market focused strategy reviews with enterprise-level impact

Extensive knowledge and recent familiarity with Lockheed Martin’s business segments, customers, competitors and markets

Experience with market analysis methodologies of Aerospace & Defense (A&D) segments for the purpose of strategy development

Demonstrated ability to be a broad strategic thinker, able to bridge from strategy to actionable objectives, actions, and progress metrics though critical thinking, intelligence and curiosity

Experience tracking and performing required analysis of Government, Customer, and A&D Industry activities and initiatives

Project management skills, and experience of successfully leading geographically and functionally diverse teams (comprised of corporate and business area staff, external consultants, Think Tanks and Industrial Associations) on projects of significant strategic impact for delivery to C-suite executives

Demonstrated outstanding communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills to an executive level audience

Exceptional PowerPoint skills, and development of C-suite level briefing materials

Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

Desired skills
Strong knowledge of Lockheed Martin’s enterprise strategy and strategic business portfolios

Experience with financial modeling a of A&D segments for the purpose of strategy development

Prior experience in scenario planning, operations analysis, and knowledge of threats and future customer missions

Practical experience implementing enterprise strategy with teams and programs/opportunities to drive growth

Management/strategy consulting experience for A&D industry

M&A and corporate development experience for A&D industry

Tenacious focus on driving to an answer despite uncertainty

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Advanced level degree, such as MBA

Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance, and familiarity with DoD and IC classified activities
