Job Description :
-Seeking a strong candidate to join a dedicated Propulsion team as a Lead Propulsion Engineer and backup to Corporate Senior Fellow.
-This position will serve as the propulsion technical lead and supplier liaison for development or production missile programs.

Duties include:
-Working with suppliers to maintain production deliveries in aggressive schedule environments.
-Responsibility also includes monitoring of materials for potential obsolescence issues and then resolution planning and execution of plans.
-Acting as a technical interface with supplier technical leads and LM MFC chief engineers.
-Must have a strong track record working in partnership with suppliers to successfully meet project goals.

This position requires:
-Working with programs Propulsion Engineers in the development and testing of new and/or modified propulsion systems.
-Participate in the internal technical reviews and present findings and recommendations to internal and external customers.
-Ability to make technical decisions that will impact suppliers.

The Locale: Grand Prairie is part of the “Mid-Cities” region in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas. Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth. The region offers a great cost of living combined with a robust economy and a pleasant climate. The Mid-Cities is the suburban region filling the thirty-mile span between Dallas and Fort Worth. These communities include the cities of Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, HEB (Hurst, Euless and Bedford), NRH (North Richland Hills and Richland Hills), Haltom City, Watauga, and Keller, along with multiple other smaller towns such as Trophy Club and Roanoke and together represent more people than either Dallas or Fort Worth.


Basic Qualifications
-Must be a US Citizen and hold an Active Department of Defense Secret Clearance with an investigation (or re-investigation) within 6 years.
-Bachelors or Master’s Degree from an accredited college in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent experience/combined education.

Minimum of 10 years professional experience in solid rocket motor propulsion to include the following:
1. Solid rocket motor supplier coordination experience
2. Subcontractor / supplier management experience
3. Propulsion test and qualification experience

-High Mach propulsion system knowledge and experience
-Professional experience in mechanical engineering disciplines such as: structures, materials, and thermal analysis.
-Proven team leadership

Desired skills
-Air breathing propulsion system knowledge and experience.
-Obsolescence activities experience
-Excellent written and oral communication skills
-Project Management experience
-Ability to obtain Top Secret and Special Access clearances
