Will be a part of the Aegis Modernization Team supporting Aegis Combat Systems Ship Installation Test and Trials in Norfolk, Virginia and with our Navy customer. The groups primary responsibility centers around the installation, test and repair of Combat System equipment (ORDALTS, SHIPALTS, FMB’s) on USN and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) surface combatants throughout the world. Will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Will also be required to submit to drug screening per company policy. Extensive travel will be required; as much as 50%.The CODS Equipment Technician is responsible for ensuring AEGIS Tactical Computer System, Operational Readiness Test System (ORTS), Display Systems and BFTT equipment are operable and available. Technician assists in identifying, isolating and repairing related equipment problems.

Specific responsibilities include:
1. Provide AEGIS Tactical Computer System, C&D/ADS System, BFTT and ORTS equipment assessments and assist with equipment modernization
2. Identify and resolve equipment and documentation discrepancies
3. Provide refresher training on AEGIS Tactical Computer System, C&D/ADS System and ORTS Planned Maintenance System (PMS)
4. Assist in the resolution of related logistics issues
5. Assist in fiber optic testing and repair and standard cable testing and repair, as necessary
6. Assist Cable Engineer with identification and resolution of shipboard cabling issues
7. Maintain proficiencies with updated equipment

Planning:
1. Review existing AEGIS Tactical Computer System, C&D/ADS System and ORTS related test procedures and recommend changes
2. Support review of existing fiber optic and MIL STD cable test procedures and recommend changes

Execution:
1. Ensure AEGIS Tactical Computer System, C&D/ADS Systems, BFTT and ORTS equipment is activated, operational and properly configured to support each test event
2. Assist the Engineering personnel and others as required during test conduct
3. Assist the Engineering personnel and others as required with collection and analysis of AEGIS Tactical Computer System, C&D/ADS Systems, BFTT and ORTS performance data
4. Ensure hardware discrepancies are documented utilizing the Electronic Material Assessment Form (EMAF) process to ensure 2K generation IAW the JFMM
5. Ensure software discrepancies are documented utilizing the Test Observation Report (TOR) process
6. Initiate fleet feedback response for documentation or hardware issues (i.e. TMDER. TFBR etc.); when applicable
7. Assist engineering personnel in resolution of Combat System interface problems
8. Assist ship yard and installation teams in CODS equipment modernization
9. Provide crew familiarization and OJT to ship’s crew
10. Order and install all replacement parts

Reporting:
1. Provide AEGIS Tactical Computer System, C&D/ADS System, BFTT and ORTS status reports
2. Assist the C&D/ADS/TADIL Engineer, ORTS Engineer and Integrated Training Engineer and others as required with analysis of collected data
3. Provide daily and weekly reports to CS Equipment Maintenance Lead and CS Engineering Lead
4. Maintain current status of all unresolved Computer, ORTS and Display TORs
5. Provides recommendation to Availability Project Engineer on steps to resolve TORs
6. Provide fiber optic and MIL STD cable inputs to the Lessons Learned report
7. Provide inputs to Availability Project Engineer for Lesson Learned Report throughout availability
8. Provide EOA summary report to Availability Project Engineer

Basic Qualifications
Experience repairing/maintaining electrical, mechanical and electronics equipment
Ability to read and interpret equipment upgrade/repair instructions
Shipboard Electrical and Mechanical Hardware identification/awareness
Basic knowledge Microsoft Office programs
Familiarity with basic Personal Protection Equipment
Good organizational skills/Detail oriented

Desired skills
Aegis Computer Network Operations and Maintenance
AWS Baseline 9 qualifications
US Navy 2M and 3M training
Ability to read to and interpret equipment drawings, Wire Connection List’s, and Installation Control Drawings
Post high school education in a scientific or technical field of study.
