Job Description :
The employee in this job will be required to develop and execute manufacturing process plans for additive manufacturing, continuously improve processes and plans using tools and methods such as statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiments (DOE), and conceptualize, design and execute tooling requirements using ProE. In addition, the employee will identify cause and corrective action of technical production problems and develop re-work instructions when needed. The candidate will participate in and/or lead process improvement teams and other small project technical teams, and travel in support of business, as needed. The candidate will also support the development of formal operator training courses and may be required to perform OJT training of supervisors, other engineers and operators.

The employee will continuously learn and apply a wide variety of engineering techniques, will contribute to projects in a teaming environment and will investigate, transfer, and adapt processes, techniques, or methods to new applications.

Basic Qualifications
This position requires excellent problem solving and analytical skills in mechanical engineering, and/or material science disciplines and the ability to adapt those skills in support of additive manufacturing within Missiles & Fire Control (MFC).

This position requires skills and/or experience in one or more categories of metal and plastic additive manufacturing engineering: powder bed fusion, direct energy deposition, binder jetting, sheet lamination, and/or material jetting, fused deposition modeling. Candidates will have skills, experience and/or course work that includes the design, manufacturing and metrology of additively built components.

Candidates must be able to contribute to and/or lead projects in a teaming environment and have the ability to investigate, transfer, and adapt processes, techniques, or methods to new applications. The successful candidate will also possess excellent problem solving and analytical skills in one or more of the following disciplines - mechanical engineering, optical engineering, physics, chemical engineering and/or material science - and be able to adapt those skills in support of additive manufacturing within the MFC enterprise. The candidate must have experience with and/or be capable of learning a wide variety of multi-disciplinary analytical and metrology techniques.

The candidate will be able to troubleshoot additive manufacturing processes, and will have skills that enable continuous process improvement.

B.S. in Engineering or equivalent experience required.
Ability to obtain a security clearance.

Desired skills
Breadth in skills and/or experience across multiple disciplines of additive manufacturing engineering is strongly desired. Previous experience with, and knowledge of, direct metal laser sintering processes is strongly desired.

Demonstrated small team leadership skills are desired.

Knowledge of relevant military and ISO specifications is also strongly desired.

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience strongly desired. M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
