Job Description :
This Flight Simulations Software Engineer will develop software for high-fidelity flight simulators to train pilots in a combat environment.

This role requires a mix of aircraft knowledge and software development proficiency. The engineer will contribute to the development of software requirements based on project scope, technical specifications, and desired operational capabilities. The engineer will design, develop, and test software modules on a day-to-day basis. The engineer will provide sustainment support for complex flight simulations programs. The engineer will fix trouble tickets as needed. Troubleshooting existing baselines will be necessary to ensure product quality. The engineer will collaborate with other teammates and other engineering disciplines to include hardware engineers, systems engineers, system integration, and program management.

Basic Qualifications
- C/C++ computer applications development proficiency is required.
- Experience supporting software development of Flight Simulators
- Experience with writing software on Unix/Linux platforms is required.
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment is required.
- Strong verbal & written communications skills are required.
- Strong collaboration skills are required.
- Must have the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance

- Basic qualifications for this position will include a BS degree in Computer Science (BSCS), Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field or equivalent with at least 5 years of experience writing software code.

The Greater Orlando metropolitan area is the sixth largest metro area in the southeastern United States. The climate here is warm and sunny all year long for the most part. Orlando is home to the University of Central Florida (UCF), Walt Disney World, and SeaWorld. Where can you get to from Orlando? Orlando is about an hour's drive from Cocoa Beach and the "space coast" to include NASA and the Kennedy Space Center. Tampa is about 1 and ¼ hours from Orlando. West Palm Beach is about 2.5 hours to the south and Jacksonville is about 2 hours to the northeast.

Desired skills
- Fixed-Wing Aircraft exposure (example: F-16)
- Software design experience and Architecture knowledge of Flight Simulators
- Agile Software Development
- Object Oriented Design
- Real-world or simulation experience developing any of the following:
- Aerodynamic principles
- Aircraft systems
- CNI systems (IFF, Radios, Datalink, EGI)
- EO/IR Sensors and/or Radar Systems
- Weapons systems
- 1553 Interfaces
