This position supports the LCS Post-Delivery program in Marinette, WI, as an on-site engineering manager supporting our Industrial Post-Delivery Availability (IPDA) team. This position is responsible for understanding all of the technical details, resource constraints, and schedule impacts for assigned ship repair items. An Area Manager performs the following functions:
1. Work for the Ship Superintendent to manage ongoing work to ensure adequate resources are applied to meet schedule requirements.
2. Coordinate with the In-Service Ship Design (ISSD) representative to validate the work performed is technically correct and in accordance with design documentation.
3. Manage all progress and scope issues for the Ship Superintendent.
4. Provide on-ship verification of technical issues, planned maintenance, and systems operations.
5. Independently review Hull, Mechanical, Electrical (HM&E) and Mission Systems (MS) equipment modifications, and repair designs.
6. Independently validate 4E Work Specifications to install HM&E / MS equipment modifications and repair designs.
7. Perform Ship Superintendent duties as required.
8. Provide input for the update for FREEDOM LCS Class ships’ technical publications
9. Provide input to update preventative maintenance procedures
10. Assist in the monitoring of HM&E / MS equipment.
11. Support special studies and independent engineering projects.

Basic Qualifications
1. Navy ship engineering and systems familiarity.
2. Ability to read and comprehend electrical and mechanical drawings.
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
4. Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.
5. Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills.
6. Team player with process improvement qualities; organizational skills; and attention to detail.
7. Proficient in MS Office products.

Desired skills
1. Navy maintenance process and resources familiarity.
2. Experience with Joint Forces Maintenance Manual (JFMM) and specifically with the development of 4E Work Specifications.
3. Navy ship HM&E / Combat Systems equipment and systems expertise.
4. FREEDOM Class LCS Experience.
5. Ship Design and Model Management experience.
6. Technical understanding and use of computer modeling applications (AutoCad, Navisworks Manage, Ship Constructor ).
