Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company's Optical Payload Center of Excellence is seeking candidate for electro-optic (EO) Payload System development with a focus on the integrated Payload System. The successful candidate’s primary responsibilities will include all aspects of the electronics development and integration activities of our E-O Payload Systems. The candidate will provide program technical support for hardware design, hardware and software interface compatibility, verification event development, test program coordination and hardware delivery. They may be asked to support the develop of Payload system level impacts for proposals, risks and opportunities, ConOp development, Payload system level requirements generation and flowdown across multiple components. The candidate may also serve as the lead Certified Principal Engineer (CPE) for an E-O Payload with a focus on electronics/electrical activities.
The position responsibilities include:
• Technical leadership of component CPEs and multi-disciplinary teams for both internally provided and sub-contracted hardware teams
• Some domestic travel is to be expected
• Understanding of the Specifications and derived requirements flowdown, the Payload System architecture, ConOp, and interface requirements
• Oversee the requirements development, flowdown and verification events including support for overall test program and data trending program development
• Work with the IPT, CPEs, Subcontract Manager and Program Management to coordinate Payload System level impacts in response to Request for Proposals including generation of Technical Volumes and Assumptions
• Oversee design reviews at the Payload and component levels and ensure successful closure of all action items and design artifacts
• Support resolution of test failures, hardware anomalies, and provide support to system engineering during critical program milestones

Basic Qualifications
• BS in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Optics, or Physics with 9 years or MS and 7 years.
• Expertise in electronics, electro-optics, or physics
• Experience with E-O systems and relevant performance parameters
• Practical and theoretical knowledge of laboratory hardware for electro-optical sensor and component characterization
• Experience with integration, test and verification of electronics and sensor systems
• Experience in the development of data processing subsystems implemented in hardware and/or on general purpose computer in software
• Experience with electronics processor requirements and usage
• Experience deriving requirements and writing specifications based on customer requirements.
• Experience in the development of verification plans and approaches to support development.
• Good communication skills
• Ability to obtain a security clearance

Desired skills
• Advanced degree in electro-optics, electrical engineering, physics, or a related field.
• Space Based EO sensor signal chain design experience
• Space hardware experience
• Radiation testing and qualification of electro-optical hardware
• IRAD planning and execution experience
• Program Manager experience, Integrated Product Team Lead, or Subcontract Manager Experience on a development program
• Development experience in digital electronics, especially high-speed serial interfaces (Gbps class), signal integrity, and timing
• Experienced in architecture definition, system design, debug and test of aerospace systems.
• Experience with FPGAs/ASICs for high-reliability applications
• Experience developing RTL utilizing a hardware description language (e.g. VHDL, Verilog, and/or SystemVerilog) and debug the design via simulation tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
• Effectively manage change
• Active TS/SCI Clearance
