You will be an experienced aerodynamicist sought to support a fast-paced, hypersonic booster development program as the Test Lead for wind tunnel test activities. The aerodynamicist will work with the Aero/Performance team to develop an appropriate test strategy to obtain the required data. The engineer will coordinate all aspects of wind tunnel testing including: model design, model build, wind tunnel test planning, testing execution, and post-processing of the wind tunnel data. Duties may also include configuration design, control surface sizing, aerodynamic loads predictions, computational fluid dynamics analysis, and preliminary aerodynamic database development. The Wind Tunnel Test Lead will work with the aero/performance team to update the aero model as the configuration is refined. Duties will also include developing aero models for separation events and rocket plume modeling.

Basic Qualifications
Minimum BS degree in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent is required. Experience leading supersonic and/or hypersonic wind tunnel test efforts. Understanding of missile aerodynamics and flight performance. Experience in missile or rocket configuration design and aerodynamics analysis. Familiarity with CFD and aerodynamic database development.

The successful candidate must have excellent verbal and written communications skills. Proven team lead skills are necessary for this position.

Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Candidates should be comfortable giving presentations to program leadership and government customers.

Minimum final secret clearance is required prior to start.

Desired skills
Hypersonic aerodynamics experience is highly desired. Past experience on programs such as X-51, FALCON, or HiFiRe programs is a plus.
Experience using STAR-CCM+ or FALCON CFD codes.
Experience with Creo, SOLIDWORKS, or CATIA.
Familiarity with Matlab or similar tool for manipulating and analyzing large numeric data sets.
