Fabrication Element Lead technician:

Oversight and proper operation of Structures/ Corrosion Control, Machine/Welding shop, AGE and NDI shops and team members

In addition to assisting with the duties and responsibilities required of Fabrication Element Shop Chiefs and Technicians listed in the shops above, the Fabrication Element Lead will be the first line supervisor for the listed work area Shop Chiefs and will be responsible for all aspects of production, training, housekeeping, shop requirements, scheduling and the safety of those assigned. Fabrication Element Lead will report to the Equipment Maintenance Section (EMS) Manager

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS/INFO: Candidate must be a high school graduate or have completed an equivalent program. Candidate must have held a USAF skill level 7 (or equivalent) in his career field. Candidate must have at least 4 years’ experience in one of the F-16 aircraft maintenance areas stated in the job title. Progressive and documented experience in the fighter aircraft maintenance environment. Documented experience as a supervisor or shop lead. Must have strong communications and interpersonal skills. Must read, write and speak English fluently. Must have or be able to rapidly secure a DOD secret clearance. Regularly required to lift/carry up to 50 pounds, perform repetitive movements, and perform work from ground level to overhead. This position requires frequent standing for long periods, walking, stooping, kneeling, squatting, crawling, and twisting. Assignment location is in Iraq.

The first several months of this assignment will support flying from a US location followed by Iraq site set-up activities, to include but not limited to light to medium construction activities such as assembling warehouse shelving and furniture in all areas of the maintenance complex. Candidates must be willing and able to participate in all set-up activities, assist with receiving and storing supplies and support equipment. The site will still be under construction at the time of the first arrivals. Environmental/weather conditions can be extreme during different seasons. Site is a secure compound which team members will be confined to. Flexibility, a positive attitude and excellent people skills are a must.

Basic Qualifications
- Aircraft maintenance leader
- USAF 7 level in structures, machine shop, corrosion control , AGE or NDI

Desired skills
-Previous experience as a shop or section supervisor/leader or equivalent experience

- Previous Quality Assurance experience

- Multiple 7 Level AFSC’s in Aircraft Maintenance

Previous experience setting up maintenance work areas

A strong understanding of the maintenance process

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access)
