Job Description :
The Value Driven Solutions (VDS) Specialist is a value and cost leadership role for a program’s life cycle. The VDS Specialist is empowered by executive leadership to enforce the Affordability Analysis and Design to Cost (AA/DTC) process throughout the life cycle to ensure that all aspects, system performance goals (customers driving needs), cost goals, schedule milestones, and risk considerations are all evaluated. The VDS Specialist responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Advocate and faithfully implement the corporate DTC policy.
• Guide the program in meeting DTC objectives, balancing cost, performance, schedule, and risk to maximize customer value.
• Collaborate with other key lifecycle roles (i.e. Program Manager, Capture Manager, Technical Lead, Chief Engineer, Finance Lead, Cost Estimation Lead, PTW lead, Supply Chain leadership and Production & Operations) to achieve AA/DTC objectives.
• Leads the program’s activities in development and review of status toward DTC targets.
• Develop and allocate cost targets (that include the PTW, Voice and priorities of the Customer)
• Develop a validated Step Down Plan to meet the target and the tasks to support. Drive project execution amongst key stakeholders to ensure success.
• Throughout the lifecycle, provide a cost and performance dashboard and the impacts of trades to quickly distinguish alternatives.
• During execution, continue to guide the application of Affordability objectives, according to program allocated budget, satisfying program objectives (e.g. cost-out requirements to meet program financial performance), and maximizing customer value

The VDS Specialist will be a matrixed leader (E5) role, to whom multiple functions indirectly report. The role will direct report to the Director of Cost & Productivity and indirectly to the S-92 Chief Engineer. Location: Trumbull, CT.
Past experiences in successful implementation of cost-off efforts strongly desired. Project management skills essential. Able to work in multi-functional teams. Able to function and thrive in matrixed environment to meet deliverables.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required

Master’s degree in business
