Will support Aegis Combat System new construction testing for Aegis DDG-51 class ships in Bath, ME as part of the Aegis Test Team. Overall responsibility for ensuring the Navigation Systems aboard DDG 51 class ships in Bath, ME are operational and available.

Responsible for Navigation System equipment suites, hardware and software configuration setups, and equipment interfaces. Responsible systems include: NAVSSI, AN/WSN-7, DEMIL, MORIAH, AIS, SPA-25, Fathometer. Provide oversight and support for all shipyard navigational testing. Support physical layer testing and troubleshooting, including, but not limited to fiber optic testing and troubleshooting. Complete functional testing requirements on all Navigational Systems. Ensure that the ships Navigational Systems are available to support all scheduled testing.

When not supporting the ATT test program, the successful candidate will be expected to support business travel to all locations domestic and international that aegis ships might operate to provide Navigation Engineer subject matter expertise while troubleshooting and repairing equipment casualties and training Sailors/Technicians.

Travel locations outside Bath, ME include, but are not limited to: Yokosuka, Japan; Chinhae, South Korea; Rota, Spain; Pearl Harbor, HI; Everett, WA; Mayport, FL; San Diego, CA; Norfolk, VA; and Pascagoula, MS.

Basic Qualifications
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
Demonstrate ability to work with minimal supervision in an interrupt-driven, multi-tasking environment.
Possess strong communication skills required for effective interface with management, ship builder, vendors, and the customer.
Show awareness of systems implementation and integration process, including planning, scheduling and resolving dependencies.

Desired skills
Knowledge of ship navigation, ship automation, and ship propulsion control/monitoring system equipment operation and integration.
Specific knowledge of NAVSSI, AN/WSN-7, AIS, MORIAH, DEMIL and Fathometer equipment.
Knowledge of DDG 51 class ships, including navigation systems
Experience with large scale Ship Integration and Test practices.
Experience interfacing with US Navy personnel and familiarity with US Navy command structure.
