As part of the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program this entry level position in the mission operations area of Reentry and Advanced Missile Programs will serve as a strong foundation for continued development as a systems engineer. Among the typical assignments are: support of field centers and facilities and supporting the operational readiness and safety of the Navy's Strategic Weapons Systems; learning the craft of problem investigations, to include root cause analysis and corrective action implementation support; activities involving surveillance and monitoring of deployed systems, watching for changes or degradation to the system; developing new ideas for more affordable and efficient operations; benefiting from experts and other mentors to learn design and manufacturing aspects of deployed systems. A person who wishes to take on this assignment must be willing to learn voraciously, and to use the basic concepts learned through collegiate education where appropriate. Typical assignments may be short or long, and may vary widely.

Ability to obtain Secret Clearance required for this role.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited college/university. This position requires special access to support the program and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen.

Desired skills
Knowledge and or training in the integration of requirements, design and technology during the design and development of complex systems. Involvement with extra-curricular activities. Ability to multi-task with varied assignments. Highly motivated and dedicated to completion of tasks to a high standard. Works well in group environments. Ability, at times, to work shifts other than dayshift (however dayshift is the main shift). The successful candidate must have strong technical skills. Candidate must have the ability to work well with own team, as well as other departments, organization, and customers.
