Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and structural assemblies. Participate in issue resolution, develop solutions to technical problems of varying complexity while assuring sound technical content and timely closure. Develop, review and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, manufacturing processes, and technical analyses necessary to support interceptor development and manufacturing activities. Ability to obtain TS/SCI Clearance required for this role.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Materials Engineering or other related discipline from an accredited college/university. This position requires special access to support the program and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen.

Desired skills
Candidate should have an understanding and ability to apply basic Mechanical Engineering principles, theories and concepts. Missile/aerospace related education/exposure. Knowledge of Mechanical Design principles including Statics, Strength of Materials and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T); Fluency in Mechanical modeling and analysis tools. Fundamental understanding of structures and materials. Familiarity with Pro Engineer/Wildfire/Creo or similar CAD/CAM/CAE programs. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
