Job Description :
Support classified System Engineering Integration efforts in the Command and Control (C2) Systems business area. The Command and Control Systems business area supports multiple programs and additional study and Independent Research and Development (IRAD) efforts. Command and Control Systems develops highly reliable shelterized and fixed facility systems. These systems demand integration of high-end Commerical-off-the-Shelf (COTS) and custom hardware, interfacing to complex communications systems, and support demanding environmental conditions in fixed-facility and transportable configurations.

This position is for a Systems Engineer-IT responsible for integrating Windows based systems with both software and hardware components, and the capability of integrating network components to work with the system. The candidate must have a comprehensive background in systems and subsystems integration and testing. Duties may include hardware assembly, software installation and verification, image installation on workstations and servers, troubleshooting, integration of COTS material, windows administration and service account maintains, as well as network device setup, configuration, and verification. In addition, strong documentation of procedures and best practices is desired. The candidate will be part of a consortium team that will be setting up the next generation of Command Centers and will be responsible for systems integration and verification across multiple baselined systems in an operational environment as well as a development and lab environment.

Must be an independent thinker, self motivated, self-starter, and works with limited supervision in order to keep pace with the fast pace environment. Compiles data and defines changes required in testing software and equipment, testing procedures. Must be willing to establish, update and follow lab procedures. Willing to work overtime as required, and provide scheduled pager support (if required). Willing to learn new technologies, be flexible in order to support various roles within the Integration and Test section and provide recommendation for system architectures configuration as needed/required. The candidate must have outstanding people and analytical skills.

Basic Qualifications
-Previous experience with Command and Control Systems and TPED systems including development of highly shelterized or fixed facility systems.
-Working knowledge of Windows, Hardware, Network support.
-Knowledge of OS installation (Windows Server 2008, 2012, Win 7, Win 10, RHEL 6.7)
-Windows account creation and application installation.
-Understanding of protocols and technologies such as Internet Protocol (IP), Local/Wide Area Network (LAN/WAN), Domain name system (DNS), Active Directory, and Dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP).
-Proficiency with administration of windows desktop systems.
-Strong written and verbal communications skills.
-Ability to work independently and within a team.
-Experience troubleshooting hardware anomalies and failures.
-Have strong inter-personal and communication skills and be capable of accurately and succinctly explain procedures in writing or verbally.
-Experience with Test plans and procedures, writing and executing.
-Support software development and system integration baseline releases and platform anomaly resolution.

Desired skills
-Previous Infrastructure Expertise in Data center design and operation.
-Knowledge of LM infrastructure and security standards.
-Skilled in the set up and maintenance of network devices (cisco and juniper)
-Working knowledge of server virtualization (Hyper-V) and/or VMware.
-Working knowledge of Software Configuration Management/Documentation Management(CM/DM) which can include IBM Rational ClearQuest, ClearCase, and/or Sharepoint.
-Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)/Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Security +, Unix certifications.
-Knowledge of backup applications (Backup-Exec, Tivoli, Veritas, etc).
-Experience with MS Cluster Server, Thin Client technology, Blade Servers, iSCSI, etc.
-Skills related to system/network design, diagnostics, and optimization.
-Knowledge of tape library configuration and application with Windows and Unix systems.
-Strong experience in windows administration troubleshooting (system setup, account management, backup/restore, network printers, application installation, and peripheral installations, etc.)
