Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is a recognized designer, developer and manufacturer of precision engagement aerospace and defense systems for the U.S. and allied militaries. This is Lockheed Martin’s lead business unit for research development and production of manned and unmanned ground-vehicle systems, electro-optical and smart munitions systems and is a pioneer in the field of versatile, high-performance missile and rocket technology.

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing and leading all manufacturing aspects of various development programs within the Tactical Missiles/Combat Maneuver Systems (TM/CMS) Line of Business, and the Tactical Missiles Advanced Programs (TMAP) Organization.

The position will require frequent interface and interaction with various Program Management teams, various LMMFC sites, and various Lockheed Martin Business Units.

The Locale: Grand Prairie is part of the “Mid-Cities” region in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas. Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth. The region offers a great cost of living combined with a robust economy and a pleasant climate. This North Central region of Texas is a great place to live and to raise a family. The region is home to numerous colleges and universities to include University of Texas at Dallas, University of Texas at Arlington, University of North Texas, Southern Methodist University, Southern Methodist University, and Texas Woman's University. The Mid-Cities is the suburban region filling the thirty-mile span between Dallas and Fort Worth. These communities include the cities of Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, HEB (Hurst, Euless and Bedford), NRH (North Richland Hills and Richland Hills), Haltom City, Watauga, and Keller, along with multiple other smaller towns such as Trophy Club and Roanoke and together represent more people than either Dallas or Fort Worth.

Basic Qualifications
Earned Value Management - Understands standard metrics (Cost Performance Index (CPI), Schedule Performance Index (SPI), To Complete Performance Index (TCPI), cost and schedule variances, Management Reserve (MR), etc.). Understands implications of variation. Able to formulate & execute corrective actions as required.

Integrated Master Plan/Integrated Master Schedule (IMP/IMS) and scheduling with a MRP System - Understands the importance of plans and schedules. Utilizes the tools to manage manufacturing aspects of projects/programs. Able to formulate and execute recovery as required.

Manufacturing Risk Management - experienced in conducting Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRAs) at Major Subcontractors and LMMFC Factories. Understands the value of identifying and managing manufacturing risks; Formulates manufacturing maturation plans and ensures incorporation into project/program plans and schedules.

Management of Make/Buy Plans.

Formal presentation skills - Able to build presentations to deliver intended message to Program Management and Government Customers.

Time Management - Ability to assess and manage tasks and priorities on various development programs.

Technical Capabilities - Must possess and grow relevant manufacturing technical capabilities; Leverage manufacturing technical staff where required; embrace each technical event as an opportunity to learn more about system and specific technical specialty. Very solid understanding of tooling fabrication and the ability to work with suppliers.

Desired skills
Development and transition to production program experience is preferred.

A broad background in a dealing with a dynamic development environment with experience in dealing with program leadership, engineering, quality, PP&C, and various LMMFC Factories

TMRR and EMD program experience, including knowledge of all phases of the program’s life cycle (Concept Definition, TMRR, EMD, Production, and Post Deployment) is a plus.

Proposal experience with multiple customers and systems during various phases, including development efforts.
