Job Description :
Perform structural analysis of main and tail rotor blade components and assemblies. Includes static and fatigue analysis of metals and composites. The team supports the entire life cycle of rotor blades from R&D projects, development, production, certification, and field and safety across all model aircraft. Usually engineers will have multiple tasks at any given time that may span across different models and different stages of development. Example projects include:
- structural analysis of new R&D blade or blade technology
- fatigue and flight test support
- structural analysis of discrepant parts in manufacturing
- structural analysis of design changes/improvements
- structural analysis of new model aircraft in a development stage.
- etc

Structural analysis includes classical "hand" analysis methods, finite element analysis, internal Sikorsky spreadsheet tools for composites.

Typically structural analysts work along side designers and manufacturing engineers in a team environment.
