Job Description :
The candidate shall provide on-site field engineering and technical support services to Pearl Harbor Navy Ship Yard Code 200 (Aegis Branch). Candidate will perform shipboard fleet technical services for the Aegis Weapon System (AWS) infrastructure and AEGIS Local Area Network (LAN) interconnect system (ALIS) including engineering/technical evaluations, assessments, equipment functional checks, technical assists, troubleshooting/test/analysis and equipment repair, installation, operation, maintenance, and/or connectivity faults for these systems and equipment including interfaces to peripheral, interfaced and support systems. Assist military and Government personnel to analyze and resolve malfunctions detected during equipment operation and testing and perform maintenance including fault isolation, tests, alignments, and repairs on assigned equipment at the organizational level using the ORTS and supporting work package documentation. Leverage preventive and corrective maintenance as training opportunities to develop and enhance US Navy sailor technical proficiency. Work as a team with system engineers, computer program developers, test engineers, technicians, and customer representatives to support Aegis Weapon System (AWS) readiness as required. Support conduct of special tests and investigations. Provide verbal and written reports to leadership and other key functional and program organizations as required. Some travel and underway shipboard technical support required (10%).

Basic Qualifications
Complete understanding and considerable experience with the maintenance and operation of USN Aegis Combat/Weapon Systems as an Aegis Computer Network Technician (ACNT) Technician for one of the following Aegis baselines 7/7P1R/8/9A/9C; candidate must also possess good interpersonal skills (both for written and oral communications); and be capable of working independently or as part of a team.

Desired skills
Aegis system test, assessment or certification experience; experience working with other MIL-SPEC and COTS equipment/systems. Familiarity and compliance with the Navy PMS (OPNAVINST 4790.4 series in effect as of November 2013), familiarity with legacy interfaces (e.g. Naval Tactical Data System, MIL-STD -1553) and IAT level II certification to support privileged system administrator access to tactical AWS networks. Fiber Optic Repair technician certification (MIL-STD-2042/MIL-STD-1678) and/or Connection/Wire Wrap certification (MIL-STD-1130C) highly desired.
