Job Description :
Director, managing the LM Government Affairs (LMGA) offices in Norfolk, VA directly reporting to Director, Surface Systems, LMGA and supporting LM Corporate business area staffs and LM Operating companies to establish and achieve their domestic objectives.
Develops close working relationships with appropriate military commands and the civilian and business communities in the Norfolk, VA and relevant East Coast regions to facilitate the evaluation, qualification, and development of new domestic business opportunities; specifically coordinates with DoD, Joint, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Coast Guard and Homeland Security (HLS) entities that may be affected; provides LM Corporate staff support and liaison for LM Operating companies’ domestic programs and activities, as appropriate; coordinates all customer contacts, briefings and communications directed to DoD and DoN in the region.
Supports Norfolk / East Coast area based activities to facilitate winning new business and keeping core business sold. As coordinated with Director, Surface Systems, LMGA, participate in reviews, strategy sessions and color teams for expertise in DoD/DoN issues and other related areas.
Serve as the Norfolk/Tidewater VA area coordinator for Lockheed Martin involvement in trade association events and in supporting active and positive relations with the local community.
Coordinate with Director, Surface Systems, LMGA for establishing budget for the Norfolk Field Office as part of broader LMGA Navy and Marine Corps annual budgeting plan.

Basic Qualifications
• Have particular familiarity with U.S. Fleet Forces (USFF) Command, Fleet Units, Type Commanders, Special Warfare Units, Regional/Base Commanders and associated enterprises and leadership.
• Have specific knowledge of DoN Programs.
• Possess in-depth knowledge of the USFF organization.
• Possess general Lockheed Martin product familiarization.
• Have familiarity with capturing new business including various phases of the proposal developments to include knowledge about operations, technologies, business and competitors.
• Have a solid understanding of the DoD budget process, procedures and congressional budget process.
• Have a working understanding of the Joint Capabilities Integration Development System (JCIDS) and Joint Requirements Oversight Council (JROC) processes.
• Have a complete understanding of naval operations, acquisition and research & development process, policies and procedures.
• Ability to obtain a clearance
