E1485:Research Scientist Sr Stf
Job Description :
This Lockheed Martin (LM) Enterprise Business Services (EBS) position is a part of the Technical Operations Applications organization's Data Analytics team. The selected candidate will function as both a practicing Data Scientist and an evangelist for advanced analytics techniques in support of Lockheed Martin business areas, programs, and functions.

Data analytics, the ability to capture, manage and analyze large and complex data sets, allow for improved decision-making and business practices as well as tailored products and services in many different industries and fields. Lockheed Martin’s deep experience in processing streaming sensor data and the same engineering capabilities that deployed solutions for space situational awareness and missile defense have allowed for a seamless transition to employing data analytics in the areas of forecasting, cyber security, quantum computing and medical analytics.

The responsibilities of this position include collaboration with business stakeholders to identify business opportunities and requirements to develop associated analytical models that deliver useful, actionable insights, or recommendations.

A selected candidate can expect to participate in, or lead cross functional teams to address problems and identify new data driven business opportunities beyond the current business focus. The role will combine existing and new data in order to institutionalize a data-driven analysis. Effectively identifying relevant data sources and applying a variety of tools and techniques to prepare and manipulate the data for analysis, as well as using visualization and reporting techniques to present findings and recommendations will drive successful results.

In addition to applied problem solving, a successful candidate will drive data architectures needed for sourcing and wider consumption and analysis. Partnering with Solution Architects to provide insights into current and future trends in these areas and translate them into implications for Lockheed Martin including deployment of new technologies is a key responsibility. This responsibility also includes giving advice on adequate quality, analysis, processing, privacy and security of internal and external data to improve predictive and cognitive capabilities. Self-motivated individuals with a hands-on entrepreneurial spirit, exceptional drive and the ability to work in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary environment will be successful in this role.

Limited travel (less than 25%) will be required for this role. Work location is preferred to be at a major U.S. based Lockheed Martin facility with other EBS employees.
