Job Description :
Lockheed Martin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a position to support the Program Production Engineering team. This position requires frequent interaction with an international customer/subcontractor. To ensure effective coordination, the shift schedule for this position will begin at 5:00 a.m. CT. Additionally, this position may require frequent international travel and potentially could turn into a long term international assignment.

The position will require producibility analysis of processes and tooling, as well as comparison of engineering requirements against the current manufacturing data package to ensure robust processes. The role will be expected to gain a thorough understanding of the processes, tooling, and requirements. All proposed changes to tooling, processes, and engineering designs will be worked in collaboration with multiple disciplines. This position will support both in-house and supplier Production Line Validations, Proposal activities and process improvements. Causal analysis and process improvements are activities to be completed at applicable times.

Major Responsibilities/Activities
• Develop and maintain lean manufacturing processes using knowledge of product, assembly methods, tooling, and engineering requirements
• Analyze and plan assembly process flows that meet applicable requirements
• Develop manufacturing planning documentation, which would include work instructions, inspection points, and testing points
• Assure product and process quality via process audits and the use of process control techniques
• Active team member of the Integrated Product Team (IPT), communicating vital information to the IPT and Production Operations Managers
• Work hand in hand with major suppliers in regards to manufacturing process support

The Locale: Grand Prairie is part of the “Mid-Cities” region in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas. Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth. The region offers a great cost of living combined with a robust economy and a pleasant climate. This North Central region of Texas is a great place to live and to raise a family. The region is home to numerous colleges and universities to include University of Texas at Dallas, University of Texas at Arlington, University of North Texas, Southern Methodist University, Southern Methodist University, and Texas Woman's University. These communities include the cities of Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, HEB (Hurst, Euless and Bedford), NRH (North Richland Hills and Richland Hills), Haltom City, Watauga, and Keller, along with multiple other smaller towns such as Trophy Club and Roanoke and together represent more people than either Dallas or Fort Worth.

Basic Qualifications
- Proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc)
- Beginner skill level in Pro-Engineer CAD software
- Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
- Manufacturing background
- Proven ability to improve cost, schedule, quality and/or safety
- Ability to interpret drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, product/performance specifications and other systems integration technical data
- Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles
- Demonstrated effective communication skills including oral, listening, technical writing and presentations

Desired skills
- SAP experience
- Advanced skill level in Pro-Engineer CAD software
- Intermediate skill level in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc .)
- GD&T knowledge and application
- Ability to interpret drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, product/performance specifications and other systems integration technical data
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
- Ability to effectively present technical information to non-technical people
- Effective interpersonal skills, including team building, collaboration and developing enduring business relationships that resulted in successful projects and actions.
- Previous production experience and understanding of the either the HIMARS, GMLRS or ATACMS systems.
