Job Description :
Lockheed Martin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a position in Grand Prairie, TX to support the Program Production Engineering team. The position can involve Design for Manufacture and/or Design to Cost collaboration, transition new or revised designs from development to production, proposal estimating, leading manufacturing process validation teams, driving cost reduction activities from concept to implementation and documenting cost savings, identifying risks to production and implementing mitigation plans, supplier factory process support, earned value management, conducting trade studies and any other program related manufacturing or tooling issues that may arise. This position works closely with Design Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Quality and other Manufacturing Engineers at numerous Lockheed Martin manufacturing facilities across the country to resolve and prevent issues that impact production cost, schedule, quality and safety.

The Locale: Grand Prairie is part of the “Mid-Cities” region in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas. Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth. The region offers a great cost of living combined with a robust economy and a pleasant climate. This North Central region of Texas is a great place to live and to raise a family. The region is home to numerous colleges and universities to include University of Texas at Dallas, University of Texas at Arlington, University of North Texas, Southern Methodist University, Southern Methodist University, and Texas Woman's University. The Mid-Cities is the suburban region filling the thirty-mile span between Dallas and Fort Worth. These communities include the cities of Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, HEB (Hurst, Euless and Bedford), NRH (North Richland Hills and Richland Hills), Haltom City, Watauga, and Keller, along with multiple other smaller towns such as Trophy Club and Roanoke and together represent more people than either Dallas or Fort Worth.

Basic Qualifications
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
- Ability to lead cross functional teams
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
- Ability to interpret drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, product/performance specifications and other systems integration technical data 
- Proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
- Ability to travel domestically and/or international
- Effective interpersonal skills, including team building and collaboration 
- Demonstrated effective communication skills including oral, listening, technical writing and presentations
- Manufacturing background
- Proven ability to improve cost, schedule, quality and/or safety

Desired skills
- Bachelors or higher degree in an engineering discipline or related experience
- Experience in design for manufacturing or design to cost
- Ability to perform trade studies and present results to leadership
- Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification 
- Experience working with Government customers 
- SAP Experience
- Experience manufacturing circuit cards, electro-mechanical assemblies, composite structures or energetics
- THAAD experience
