Job Description :
This position has two roles. One would be as an associate manager as part of the RF/Comm Systems group within the RF Payloads Center of Excellence. This role as functional manager would involve personnel and tech leadership for a few engineers.
The second role would be to provide direct RF support to programs. The first long-term assignment in this role would be to the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program. RF engineering support to FBM would involve:
-serving as principal engineer overseeing subcontracted hardware
-interacting with suppliers to design & deliver preamps, isocouplers, isolators, hybrid couplers, etc.
-leading integrated testing of the missile comm subsystem and simulator/test-bed components, with various analog & digital modulation schemes and high data rates, mostly at S-band
-failure investigation and troubleshooting
-RF system analysis for test missiles, and their sensors and comm hardware

Basic Qualifications
-Ability and/or experience in providing technical leadership of a small team.
-Experience with root cause analysis
-Familiarity with RF test equipment and hands-on experience testing comm or electronics hardware
-Familiarity with link budgets and associated concepts: EIRP/RIP/PFD, propagation losses vs weather availability, basic antenna trades, etc.
-Sufficient technical breadth to synthesize system level technical information, particularly as constraints or parameters relative to testing. Ability to incorporate multi-disciplinary information (like configuration constraints, mass and power budgets, cost constraints) into testing and/or analysis.
-Systems Engineering experience across various stages of a program lifecycle

Desired skills
-Certification and training as Certified Principal Engineer (CPE), Responsible Engineer, or equivalent.
-MRB/FRB certification or equivalent
-Extensive experience designing and manufacturing RF lines and antenna pattern testing, VSWR testing, and other anechoic chamber tests.
-Working knowledge of PCMFM – Pulse Code Modulation Frequency Modulation and/or SOQPSK - Shaped Offset Quadrature Phase Shift Keying
-Experience with technical presentations and ability to write technical papers.
-Prior management experience
