Job Description :
Lockheed Martin Enterprise Business Services (EBS) Financial Services is responsible for providing Accounts Payable (AP) services to various Lockheed Martin (LM) business area partners. This position's primary responsibility is to provide accounting support on behalf of EBS and the Business Areas.

As an Accounts Payable intern this position may assist with performing weekly reconciliation of AP paid activity between the business unit's general ledger, payment register and AP financial files ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies. The candidate will learn to work closely with the accounting team and the business area to resolve accounting issues and discrepancies. This involves assisting with research and resolution of complex accounting discrepancies and other miscellaneous accounting tasks as required. This position may also assist with completing monthly general ledger reconciliations in the LM account reconciliation tool. Other duties could include supporting month-end closing journal entries, month-end intercompany billing, audit requests, complex issue resolution, financial/accounting inquiries, reporting requests, system issue analysis, and process improvement initiatives.

This is a challenging internship and the ideal candidate is a quick learner with a superior work ethic. The candidate must be able provide timely and accurate work products in order support team deadlines. An ability to work effectively both independently and in a supportive, diverse team environment is expected. The employee will have the opportunity to gain experience in various AP systems and processes.

Basic Qualifications
-Demonstrated previous experience performing Accounting, Finance or Economics-related tasks (experience can be obtained through college coursework/projects, internships or on the job)
-Intermediate level proficiency using Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, etc.)

Desired skills
-Demonstrated experience performing accounting journal transaction posting and related impacts
-Demonstrated experience performing analytical and evaluation tasks
-Demonstrated experience managing multiple priorities and performing multiple tasks
-Demonstrated user level proficiency with Financial Accounting software and systems
-Ability to maintain required financial controls and to support audits as necessary
-Ability to comprehend and perform to defined procedures and processes
-Ability to demonstrate accountability and professionalism in all interactions
-Effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
-Effective customer service and team building skills
-Ability to meet OneAero SAP system access requirements
