Job Description :
Quality Engineer will support the NASA Orion Manned Space Flight Program. The QE will work in a fast-paced multi-functional team environment and will develop, modify, apply and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials and product. They will collaborate with Engineering, Acquisition Management, Manufacturing and Test organizations to ensure quality standards are in place. The QE will devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. He/She will design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conduct quality assurance tests; and perform statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. They will audit quality systems and processes for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and documentation is compliant with requirements. The QE may specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation, reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality. Current tasks include but not limited to; support to processes such as drawing and test procedure reviews, supplier approvals, review of nonconformances and failure review board activities, product delivery and acceptance reviews, review of supplier data submittals and support to our Engineering, Manufacturing Operations and Assembly, Test & Launch Operations (ATLO) organizations by participating in Design, Manufacturing and Test Readiness reviews.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in technical discipline (e.g., engineering field) or equivalent discipline (e.g., math, physics, chemistry, etc.) with 2 years of professional experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to multi-task, be thorough and detail oriented, with strong job closure and analytical skills

Desired skills
NASA customer experience, spacecraft experience. Experience in Design/Test Readiness/Manufacturing Readiness Reviews. Knowledge of Quality Systems and Processes. Material Review Board (MRB) experience as well as SAP operating systems. May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies or ASQ-QE certified.
